Unleash Positive Health and Wellbeing
With Exercise and Movement

Siona Fernandes (PhD, OLY) draws on expertise in exercise science and psychology to provide personalised movement coaching. Her PhD focused on sport, exercise, and health within the Indian diaspora, which fuels her passion to support Indian and South Asian communities. With dual Master’s degrees in these fields, she integrates evidence-based techniques and behaviour change strategies to help you move better, stay motivated, and build lasting confidence and independence—supporting an active, injury-free, and healthy lifestyle.
Drawing on her experience representing New Zealand at the 2012 London Olympics, Siona incorporates high-performance insights into her coaching to support clients in achieving and sustaining their health and fitness goals.
With a background in Bharatanatyam (classical Indian dance) and competitive sport, Siona brings a creative and holistic perspective to movement. Her approach is inclusive and culturally sensitive, rooted in the belief that every health journey is unique.
Whether you’re recovering from injury, aiming to improve athletic performance, or working toward healthier habits, Siona’s personalised sessions blend science, psychology, and lived experience—delivering a positive, sustainable, health and fitness experience.
Culturally Informed Exercise Coaching for Indian and South Asian Communities
Siona’s background in Bharatanatyam and deep understanding of cultural nuances—supported by her PhD research on sport, exercise, and health within the Indian diaspora—enable her to tailor evidence-informed movement coaching that respects and integrates the values, traditions, and health needs of Indian and South Asian clients. She is passionate about supporting health equity and creating accessible, culturally sensitive programs that empower these communities toward wellbeing.

Testimonials

“Siona has an extraordinary deep capacity to empathise with clients and assess their body and mind very quickly and therefore developed a program that tweaked my body. She has written quite extensively on the benefits of ‘engaging in several competing disciplines’ living a varied life…hard for me to summarise what Siona has achieved in her life, there are very few measures for such a person, and to top it all off she has a beautiful ‘ahua’ (spirit)”

“…an amazing fitness trainer who is the core exercise queen. Not one chiro visit since (training 15 months)”
